Transcription: Each year on the 13th of February at the time of the first wave all church bells in Dresden ring for a quarter of an hour. These are the words of Anna Maria Weisbach, a lifelong resident of the German city of Dresden. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, but for Dresdeners it also commemorates the 50th anniversary of the near total destruction of their city by firebombing and the beginning of the immense task of rebuilding which continues to this day.
